The Pekin duck breed was developed in China from wild Mallard ducks. It was brought to the United States in the late 1800s. Its docile manner, fast growth, and fantastic eggs has led the Pekin to be the most popular duck breed in the United States. While it is the primary commercial meat duck, it is also well suited for small production on pasture. Our ducks are free ranging with access to a pond, fields, and the garden (either with or without our permission)!
