The Farmers
Laura and Craig both grew up in New England and met shortly before starting college.  After completing our degrees in Florida we moved to Northern Virginia (DC suburb) where we both completed our graduate degrees – Laura in Engineering and Craig in Business.  For the next decade we worked for a large defense contractor supporting the US Navy and Naval Allies.  During this time we caught the farming bug and decided to raise some chickens – a new dream was born.  Over the next five years we started to plan for our next careers – ones that would be a benefit to us, our community and the environment.  In 2014, we took the leap and moved to Maine to start our farm.   Craig is the full-time farmer and builder while Laura is a part-time farmer and works full-time at Efficiency Maine helping incentivize people to be more energy efficient.  We decided to live our farm slogan “If the grass is greener… move the fence!”
